Building a new home for DOS and Framework
Very old DOS programms like Framework have some issues running in the DOS emulation of modern Windows versions.
A good solution is the use of a virtual machine with a 'native' DOS installation.
We have created such a new enviroment for Framework to avoid any future trouble.
In a virtual machine Framework will run forever.
Please note: for fast computers (any modern one) our speed modificion for Framework is still required!
1. Download VMWare
Download VMware Server (Registration is required)2. Download our VM image with FreeDos
Will provide the VMWare image soon, we first have to find a comfortable way to install it. At the moment the installation is far to complicated.3. Setup the Network
The virual PC can access network drives. Before, you must configure the network of DOS.4. Install Framework
Framework is not free, it's still copyrighted. You have to install your own license.We recommend to copy all the installation disks on the harddisk.
Used software (all free):
- VMware
You need to install the VMware server software on your PC. It emulates a real PC.
Download VMware Server - FreeDos
An open source DOS, very compatible. FreeDos is already included in our image.
FreeDos Website - Microsoft network DOS drivers (MS-Client)
We have included this stone age software in our image.

This project is dead, but the programm still works and it has lot of nice features.
It's alreay includes in our image. You can start the FileWizard with fw.
It has a built in editor, called with F4. Some info can be found here.
